A high school physics teaching assistant has been arrested on allegations he sexually assaulted at least two students at his high school in the last year.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office says 43-year-old Michael W. Breslin of Haysville has been charged with two counts of rape.

He is being held at the Hays Correctional Facility.

According to the Hinsdale News Journal, Hays Superintendent Mike Houghton said, “The actions of this individual were appalling, despicable and inexcusable.

We will prosecute this individual to the fullest extent of the law.”

Breslin, a teacher at the high school since 2010, was placed on administrative leave following the allegations.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more charges may be forthcoming.

“As a matter of policy, we do not comment on pending investigations,” Houghtons office said in a statement.

Houghton added that Bresler has been terminated from his teaching position at the High School of Science. More News:
